ABOUT THIS PROJECT
About Europe, Made Clear
Independent, practical starting points for people moving within Europe.
What this site does
Europe, Made Clear organizes common relocation tasks into plain-language checklists for Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. It helps you find the next official step.
Each country has a destination guide, national and city guides, and guides for particular situations such as EU or non-EU moves, work, study, family and retirement. The planner builds a checklist from your choices without sending them to a server.
What is in a guide
Every guide starts with a short notice on its scope, then an ordered checklist, explanations of the points that usually cause trouble, frequently asked questions, quick facts where they help, and a list of official sources with the date they were last checked, when one has been recorded.
How we use sources
We prioritize government, municipal and European Union sources. We flag city-specific examples and link to the source beside each relevant step. The sources page explains the method in more detail.
Languages
Guides are written in English and published in English, German, Spanish, Italian and Dutch. Official procedures are usually published in the local language, so the linked official page controls if wording differs. If a translation reads wrongly, tell us the page and the sentence.
Who publishes it
Europe, Made Clear is published by an individual with 20 years of experience in the IT industry. The site has no user accounts and does not use advertising tools. The privacy page explains the analytics it does use and how the planner stores your choices in your browser.
Why this project exists
Moving within Europe means dealing with many separate authorities, each publishing its own pages, often only in the local language and often assuming you already know the vocabulary. Anyone who has tried to work out which office to visit first, which document to bring and which deadline is real knows how easily the next step gets lost.
The publisher is an individual with 20 years of experience in the IT industry. That work is about reading documentation carefully, breaking a process into ordered steps and checking details before relying on them, and this site applies the same habits to relocation paperwork: one clear order of steps, the official source beside each step, a review date, and an honest note wherever a source does not say. The publisher’s background is in IT, not in law, tax or immigration advice, which is why the guides send you to the official source for anything that depends on your own situation. The site is built as plain static pages with no accounts, so it stays fast and collects very little.
What to expect
This is an independent information project, not a government service or a substitute for legal, tax, immigration or healthcare advice. Requirements can depend on your status and address.
